application process
Information on UBC-wide procedures is available on the Applying for CFI Funding page on the Institutional Programs website. A detailed description of the UBC Okanagan CFI Application Instructions & Deadlines (for UBC Okanagan applicants) is available below.
One month following the submission to CFI, a matching funds application must be submitted to the British Columbia Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF). A full BCKDF Step 1 proposal is part of the internal adjudication and selection of proposals. Refer to the BCKDF website for guidelines, application form template and webinar extract.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
CFI’s new permanent funding model will permit Innovation Fund competitions at regular intervals of 24 to 30 months.
The next competition is expected to be launched in early fall 2021.
In anticipation of this program launch, the Office of the Vice-Principal Research and Innovation (VPRI) is developing a schedule and internal process for supporting the development of competitive IF proposals at UBCO.
INTERNAL PROCESS
UBCO will facilitate an internal selection process to identify promising proposals, based on a mandatory Expression of Interest (EOI).
Selected proposals will be collectively supported and developed to ensure that strong, feasible and financially viable projects are submitted to the UBC system-wide internal selection committee and, ultimately, to CFI.
The UBCO Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline is May 14, 2021 (4:00 p.m.).
Details on the internal process, including a link to the EOI application form are available below:
