On December 4, 2020, Prof. Ananya Mukherjee Reed, Provost and Vice-President Academic, Okanagan, and Prof. Phil Barker, Vice-Principal and Associate Vice-President, Research and Innovation, updated the campus community on UBCO’s expansion plans to develop a presence in downtown Kelowna at 550 Doyle Avenue.

The 2-page snapshot of UBC Okanagan’s current research strengths was developed through extensive consultation with the Deans and senior leadership to identify regional opportunities and leverage our core strengths to build research capacity and secure infrastructure investments. Four key themes emerged from the consultation process, which are outlined below.

Strategic Research Support Plan (2017-2022)

The Vice-Principal Research and Innovation consulted with Faculty Deans, the Research Advisory Council, and other senior leadership groups on campus over several months to create a Strategic Research Support Plan that will advance the quality and intensity of research and creative scholarly activity at UBC Okanagan.
